567,6 million euros raised by French Fintechs in the first half of 2023.

The studies follow each other and… look alike. And for good reason: this first half of 2023 is part of the exact trend of what the end of 2022 has already drawn. So, yes, the overall amount of fundraising for Fintechs in France has "tumbled" by 61% in the first half of 2023 compared to the same period last year. It is now displayed at 567,6 million euros through 63 operations listed for an average ticket established at 9 million euros.

But is this a real disaster or rather a sign of maturity? Because, at the same time, our fintechs seem to have maintained a certain activity. 52% of French fintechs achieve a turnover of more than 1 million euros in 2023 compared to 50% in 2022. And this, while half of them are less than 5 years old. The France Fintech study also reveals that a third of these French Fintechs have already reached the break-even point at the end of 2022 (compared to 28% in 2021).
Moreover, this amount does not take into account the debt…

Another proof of a certain solidity: these 63 fundraisings carried out in the first half of 2022 were carried out for a large part with historical investors maintaining their confidence in the economic model of their participations.
