European Commission consultation on the Data Act

This is a contribution phase to give an initial opinion on the text, which will be dealt with in substance by the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) of the European Parliament. This initiative aims to facilitate access to data and its use, in particular from business to business and between businesses and public administrations, and to review the rules on the legal protection of databases. The aim is to strike the right balance between data access rights and incentives to invest in data, without changing current data protection rules.
