Strengthening financial education in school programs: here is the open letter from France Fintech and Pixpay to the government

As you know, the “Financial Education Week", will be held from March 18 to 23. On this occasion, France FinTech and 150 committed players in innovative finance, education, research and tech, call for financial education to be more strongly integrated into school curricula.

The President of the Republic rightly affirmed, during his press conference in January 2024, that “ the future of the children of the Republic still remains too determined by the family name, the place where one was born, the environment to which one belongs”. 

In an increasingly complex and risky environment, understanding financial subjects cannot remain the prerogative of higher education, professionals and experts in the sector or the wealthiest taxpayers who can seek advice and support. 

Financial education at school helps reduce inequality of opportunity and facilitates access to the knowledge necessary for economic autonomy.
