TECH PLAYERS ARE LOOKING FOR REGULATION SPECIALISTS
In France, the CNIL announced that it had imposed a fine of 105 euros on NS Cards France in December for non-compliance with regulations on cookies and tracking software, as well as for violations of the GDPR.
In October, it also imposed a colossal fine of 600 euros to the media company Canal+ Group. The latter had not requested the consent of the contacts in the context of commercial procedures. But all this is nothing compared to the famous fine of 150 million euros imposed on Google in 2021. It wasn't as easy to refuse their tracking cookies as it was to accept them, and it cost them dearly.
These hefty fines highlight how essential strong compliance is. There fintech is also particularly vulnerable to legal sanctions. In fact, it is subject to a extensive regulation due to the risks associated with innovation in financial systems.
